The purpose of the Columbia Gorge Health Council is to serve connect community members, providers, and agencies to serve the needs of the poor and vulnerable.

We envision a region of communities where all people enjoy improved health through equitable access to and engagement with coordinated resources.

Columbia Gorge Health Council

The Columbia Gorge Health Council works in partnership with PacificSource Community Solutions Coordinated Care Organization – Columbia Gorge Region. The Columbia Gorge Health Council consists of local leaders in health care along with county and community representatives.

The Columbia Gorge Health Council works to elevate the well-being of everyone living in the Columbia Gorge through:

  • Governing the Columbia Gorge Coordinated Care Organization (CCO)

    1. Allocating spending

    2. Operating collaborative programs

    3. Convening partners for health improvement efforts.

The Community Advisory Council (CAC) ensures a community voice in programs while the Clinical Advisory Panel (CAP) provides stewardship of best clinical practices. The Board, CAC and CAP each meet monthly as noted in the Upcoming Events calendar.

What does the Columbia Gorge Health Council do? What are its priorities?

The Columbia Gorge Health Council is a non-profit, tax-exempt public and private community governance entity. We are dedicated to improving the health of the region and oversight of the Medicaid population and the Coordinated Care Organization (CCO). The Columbia Gorge Health Council functions as a regional convener for health and healthcare priorities in the overall Columbia Gorge region. While the CCO membership is specifically Hood River and Wasco County residents, we recognize that community members frequently cross state and county bounderies in their daily endeavours to work, live and play in the region.

The Columbia Gorge Health Council collaborates with multiple organizations to set a regional Community Health Assessment (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Process (CHIP). More details can be found at CHA & CHIP.
